My boss is retiring. There is no replacement for him on the horizon. I have no office manager. I’m going to see my project load double, and there are quite a few CFs in the list of new projects that I’ll be running. Good to know three bases and 30 projects will be ran by one person.

The guy leaving told me as much. I feel like a shitbag for pulling the “give me a raise or I’ll leave” card, but 1) I’ve been contacted by our competitor for a job and 2) this is probably the only way to get something more than 2-5% raises while I continue to work here.

I’m setting something up for next Thursday. I really like my company and the people I work with, but the commute and the leadership changes are bumming me out.
